CBD and THC
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a well-known cannabinoid that stimulates receptors in the brain and produces significant psychoactive effects. CBD has been shown to possess many of the same therapeutic effects as THC without the psychoactive effects, making it safer for medical use.
CBD can be used alone or combined with THC. Research shows that THC is more effective when combined with CBD because of the decrease in potential adverse effects such as psychoactive activity.
MedPharm Iowa formulates different cannabis medications using a combination of cannabidiol and THC at four main dosing levels:
- Elevated THC
- Low THC
- 1:1 ratio of THC/CBD
- Elevated CBD
